Just realised that i never got round to telling you about which tracks stood out last Friday at Look.See.Here. Well, it was these ones:
First up KZA - Aneugalam (Endless Flight), a real attention-grabbing party starter. The deep bass... the flamenco guitar... the teasing horns. It all just works.
Next another one that worked further into the night was the Clap Rules remix of a release by DFA. Hand claps, computer game synth, and light funk guitar all strut along politely until... wwwwooooooouuuuurrrrkthzx xzx kx.. VOCALS. Time to get yer stomp on.
Clap Rules caught my attention last year when they released Old Sequencer on Tiny Sticks, and very good it is too. Here's some bumpf about Clap Rules.
I feel a bit bad about not giving you something to download, but those tracks are still relatively new, so if you like them go buy them, the links are there, all the hard work's done for you really, stop bitching, do it already.
...
..I'm such a soft touch; here's a classic from Teddy that rocked on Friday.
Teddy Pendergrass - The More I Get, The More I Want
